Giving thanks one year later...

Above is a picture of Liz before diagnosis and her now. She is beautiful!

Tomorrow is Elizabeth's one year anniversary. A lot of people would probably not look on this day with thanks but I do. This is the day we were given to save our daughter's life. This is the day our world, for a brief moment, fell apart. This is the day our already close family became even closer. The bond between our children is unbreakable and beautiful and I know it will always remain this way.
Life throws curve balls all the time and if we did not have our life preserver, God, we would have sank like Peter did when walking across the water. As long as we keep the preserver pulled close to our heart we will always prevail, no matter the outcome.
I am on my way to the grocery store to buy and prepare our Thanksgiving dinner for tomorrow. A new tradition in our family is a celebration of thanks on Oct. 25. Giving thanks to God, our family, and a chance to grow old together.

May all of you be blessed with the same gratefulness, gratitude, and love that we feel.

God bless,
Christine

Thanks for perspective today. We all can learn from your message. Over this year, I've thought about how Doug and Randy had planned to be in Germany on October 25th and money got in the way. Seemed like a disappointing inconvenience at the time, but God knew just where everyone needed to be on October 25th - together. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello Liz and family! I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about Liz yesterday on the 1 year anniversary of your diagnosis. I hope you all keep up what you are doing. Stay positive and strong and you will make it through this. Let your extended family here at LLS know if there is anything that we can do to help you through your journey. Just wanted you to know that you are in my thoughts.

My bible study in Isaiah has me meditating on God's promises to us - good stuff.....He will never leave you nor foresake you; He will guide your paths; He will supply all your needs; His grace is sufficient; All things works together for HIS good; He promises us life eternal.
Rest in these truths today.

This is so beautiful - may God bless you for your thankful hearts. Liz and all the Lothrops are in my prayers every day.
Thank you for continuing to educate us and keep us tuned in with your journey. Most especially, for providing specific prayer requests. I'm reading, praying, and trusting.

Healing light <3
